NEET PG 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Who is Eligible?

The requirement for NEET PG 2025 application eligibility consists of three necessary steps.

General Eligibility:

  • The educational requirement for candidates is an MBBS degree together with a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from the Medical Council of India (MCI)-recognized institutes.
  • Candidates who want to apply for NEET PG do not need to fulfil any age restrictions in their application process.
  • The requirement for candidates to spend at least one year in internship service ends on August 31, 2025.
  • Candidates entering the NEET PG exam need to hold active registration through the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) or any State Medical Council (SMC).
  • The NEET PG examination has no specified restriction on the number of times test-takers can participate.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Medical Graduates

Foreign medical graduates choosing to apply for NEET PG 2025 must follow different requirements from Indian applicants. The following important requirements must be fulfilled by these applicants:

  • Foreign medical graduates holding international degrees need to pass the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) to pursue their medical career in India.
  • Foreign medical graduates must receive registration approval from both the Medical Council of India (MCI) as well as the State Medical Council (SMC).
  • To participate candidates need to fulfill their internship requirements at an institution approved by the government.

Eligibility Criteria for AIQ 50% Quota

Criteria Details
Jammu & Kashmir Candidates Students from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for AIQ 50% seats unless nominated by the Government of India under the central pool quota.
Exception for Jammu & Kashmir Candidates Candidates nominated by the Government of India must submit an affidavit confirming their nomination to apply under the AIQ 50% quota.
